Sick!

This week’s email is going to be a little shorter, there isn’t much to report sadly, except that both my companion and I have been sick!  We had to stay home and couldn’t visit anyone since last Wednesday.  We had to cancel on some really important appointments!  It was really sad.  We’re getting better though!  About 2 weeks ago I got a bad sore throat and cough combo, but after 4 days it went away–just as Sister Ence started having the same symptoms!  She got it much worse than me though, and even had a fever for a few days!  Then after one day of being better, I started getting sick AGAIN with a different kind of cough/sore throat/no voice/hurts of a way.

These pictures are from the day before we both got too sick to talk.  I’m pretty sure we have the best District Leader ever!  He prepared this whole presentation all about missionary work that got us fired up to serve the lord!  This huge sword was part of his presentation– you can definitely tell he did theatre in high school!  He put on a one-man-play for us.  I wish I had a video of it!

But the work goes on, sick or not!  The thing that kills me most is not being able to sing.  It hurts so much to talk, let alone sing!  But it’s going to be fine and pass soon.

Church Videos I love:  I love ‘Up Awake Ye Defenders of Zion”!  It’s a good one to sing in the morning haha.  But really!  I also love “We Are All Enlisted”– notice it’s not called “The Missionaries Are All Enlisted”, but WE are!  That means EVERYONE.  We are all in this fight, whether we want to be or not, and we need to reach out and help our brothers and sisters!  We share that song a lot with members and ask them how they can help us fight the battle, by thinking of someone they can reach out to with a gospel message, or in an act of service.

I’m so lucky to have my family!  I want you to know I love you and I know you are making huge sacrifices for us.   It makes me so happy to hear that you guys invited the missionaries over like that.  How sweet that you guys have such a nice relationship with them!  There are some families that we are close to like that out here, and it makes me feel like I’m at home when I’m there– one family brought us dinner when we were sick– so kind of them!  You don’t know how much it means to a missionary to be invited over for dinner in a loving home with nice people.

I love you all!!
